Qubi Terms of Use & Risk Disclaimer

Please read this before using Qubi. By installing and using the Qubi browser extension you agree to the following.

1. Self-custody — you are your own bank

Qubi is a non-custodial wallet. Your recovery phrase and keys are generated and encrypted on your own device and are never sent to us or anyone else. We cannot see your funds, and we cannot recover, freeze, reverse, or restore them.

• **If you lose your recovery phrase (and your password), your funds are permanently lost.** There is no "forgot password" flow, no customer support override, and no backend account that can reset access.
• If you share your recovery phrase or private key with anyone, or enter it into any website, app, or message, they can take everything in that wallet. Nobody legitimate — not Qubi, not "Quantus support," not a giveaway, not a wallet-sync tool — will ever ask you for it.
• Write your recovery phrase down and store it somewhere private and durable. Qubi's backup-check step exists to make you verify you actually wrote it down correctly; it is not a substitute for keeping the paper copy safe.

2. Not financial advice

Nothing in Qubi, its documentation, or its store listing is investment, financial, tax, or legal advice. QTC and all other digital assets are volatile and may lose some or all of their value. Nothing here is an offer or solicitation to buy, sell, or trade any asset. You are solely responsible for your own decisions.

3. Reversible transfers — what "reversible" actually means

Qubi lets you send QTC as a reversible transfer, which can be cancelled within a configurable window (10 minutes by default) if you change your mind or made a mistake.

• A reversible transfer is only cancellable by the sender, and only until it settles or the window expires — after that, it is final like any other transfer.
• An incoming reversible transfer is not counted in your balance and cannot be spent until it actually settles, precisely so that nobody can show you a fake "received" balance and ask you to send something back before the transfer is final. Treat any pending incoming transfer as not yet real.
• If your account has "high security" (guardian) protection enabled on the network, your outgoing transfers are scheduled rather than instant, and your designated guardian address can, by the design of that network feature, sweep funds from your account. Qubi shows you this warning and the full guardian address whenever it applies — read it.
• Reversible transfers are a feature of the Quantus Network protocol itself, not something Qubi invented or controls; their exact behavior is determined by the network's own runtime rules, which Qubi surfaces as accurately as it can but cannot change.

4. Third-party services

Qubi talks to infrastructure it does not operate: Quantus Network RPC nodes and indexer, and (once enabled) NEAR Intents' 1Click swap-quote API.

• Swap quotes (coming soon). When enabled, any swap is quoted and executed by NEAR Intents, a third-party service, not by Qubi. Qubi verifies each quote's cryptographic signature and checks that the quote matches what you requested before showing it to you, but Qubi does not control pricing, availability, settlement time, or the counterparty for the swap itself. Use of that service is subject to its own terms, and any dispute about a swap's execution is between you and that provider.
• Custom RPC. If you configure a custom RPC endpoint instead of the default Quantus nodes, that endpoint can see your wallet address and could serve you incorrect chain data. Qubi's transaction-signing checks still protect you from signing something other than what you approved, but only use a custom RPC you trust.
• Network availability, transaction confirmation times, and fees are determined by Quantus Network, not by Qubi.

5. No warranty, use at your own risk

Qubi is provided "as is," without warranty of any kind. Qubi is early-stage software and has not yet completed an independent third-party security audit. While the project takes security seriously (see SECURITY.md in the source repository for the security model and how to report a vulnerability), you should:

• start with small amounts,
• verify every recipient address yourself before sending,
• keep your browser and Qubi updated to the latest version, and
• never enter your recovery phrase anywhere other than Qubi's own backup screens.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the developers of Qubi are not liable for any loss of funds, data, or access arising from your use of the extension, the Quantus Network, or any third-party service it connects to.

6. Changes

These terms may be updated from time to time; the effective date above will change when they are. Continuing to use Qubi after an update means you accept the revised terms.
